Got some welding practice in today, though I noted I spent more time cutting and gfrinding than welding!
I’m starting to get into a ‘system’ where I cut the welds apart from the day before, then grind them down, then weld them back together.
I’m focusing on ‘dragging my slag’, keeping my tip 3/8″ away from the corner, and at a slight back angle; I’m welding from the right side to the left side, with the gun leaning to the right so that I’m slightly pushing the slag puddle.
I am aware that my welds look horrible; that’s the point of practice!
Spoiler alert: I’m going to keep practicing and asking for advice until my welds look awesome and someone offers me $35/hour to come weld for them 😉
